Heyy! I'm Lauren, the slightly chaotic half of Rising West. 👋

Around here, you'll usually find me with an Alani in hand, chasing around my wild little boy, or filling my camera roll with pictures and memories of the people I love. I'm a mom first, and being my son's mom is the greatest adventure of my life.

Outside of that, I spend most of my time with family and friends, dreaming up my next random project, or convincing someone to join me on a last-minute road trip. Shout out to Lex for trusting me and jumping in head first on this wild ride! If you know me, you know I'm always down for a good laugh, a little spontaneity, and showing up for the people I care about.

I've always expressed myself through what I wear, but for the longest time I thought I didn't really have a "style" because I loved a little bit of everything. Cozy one day. Bold the next. Vintage mixed with modern. Boots today, sneakers tomorrow.

Eventually I realized... maybe that was my style all along.

Over the last few years, I've also learned that growth often comes from letting go of what no longer fits. Not just clothes, but expectations, fear, and the idea that I had to fit into someone else's version of who I was supposed to be.

These days, I'm much more interested in living with purpose, leading with compassion, and becoming the most authentic version of myself.

That's a big part of why Rising West means so much to me. My hope is that it becomes more than a boutique. I hope it grows into a community that uplifts women, celebrates individuality, supports Native-owned businesses and creators, and reminds people that there's room for every story, every style, and every person here.

I'm so grateful you're here.

Hello shoppers and browsers!
I’m Alexis, aka Alex, and Laur calls me Lex ☻︎

I was raised in our small town all my life, with dreams of moving to a big city one day and living an extravagant lifestyle.

But you know life decided a different route was better suited for me. I met my husband, Spencer, right before I graduated high school, and then those big wild dreams changed.

I attended Lake Area Technical College and graduated with my cosmetology license. Moved back home and in with Spencer. Opening my own little salon business! It was lots of fun and turned clients into family, I miss them so much.

While at the salon Spencer and I got married, then 2 years later we welcomed our first baby. While trying to work very select hours because I wanted to raise my children, we found out we were expecting again 10 months later… coming to the decision that I would hang up my apron and put my shears away, to stay home and raise our boys.

Spencer’s my biggest supporter, while we still do the things we love, now we just do it with two little people by our sides. Our sons, they are our greatest blessings, our world.

Here’s to new adventures with my people ♡ I hope you, our shoppers, feel connected with our small business.
